I could just see myself here
IntroductionVillanova's campus offers a strong community that shows their support most notably for it mens basketball team. Most students are throughly involved on campus and also do a lot of service.
I choose Villanova because I saw myself going there when I was on my tour; it just kinda fit.
If someone is looking for a Liberal politically active school they should stay away from villanova. Villanova students are mostly quiet conservitives but there are also a number of liberals too. Campus protests are very very rare unlike other universities.
Campus Life and Social LifeVillanova is definitely more of a Bar school than a party school. This is mostly because of the there are no greek houses on campus. There are still greek parties but they are off campus (Pledges run rides). There are many good bars around the campus that can be seen full throughout the week.
AcademicsVillanova has great programs in Business (C&F), Engineering, and Nursing.
Villanova does not have TAs and Professors are always available for help before and after class, and during their office hours. Many professors will hold review sessions the night before an exam.
Student BodyThe type of student that you would most find at Villanova would be the "Preppy" type. Villanova's student union is commonly mentioned to be like walking in to a JCrew Catalogue. Villanova's student body is mostly conservative but it is a silent majority.
Most of the Students are from NJ and other northeast states, however there have been more and more students coming from California the last few years.
Basketball is the biggest event on campus by far. Many students volunteer for the Special Olympic Fall Festival that takes place on campus every year., Service trips are big as well (i.e. Habitat for Humanity). Many students are involved in Greek Life(despite the lack of Greek Housing).
In Closing...When asking about villanova you will find mixed reviews. Some people feel the warmth and belong that is advertised by the Admissions office. Others do not.
I felt very much at home despite the fact that I was 3,000 miles from my parents. When I walked aroung the campus on my tour I could just see myself here. I would tell anyone that feels that way on a tour to go to this school.
