It's Nice in the South

Rating: 4.9/5 (34 ratings)
Introduction
You feel like when you’re on campus you’re in your own little world, you don’t have to venture out too much and that’s kind of nice.

Campus Life and Social Life
Football’s popular, it’s really popular. People like sports and a lot of money goes to the athletic dept. which is great. People get really into VA. Tech football. There’s a lot of orange and maroon, which are really pretty colors together and people like paint their faces and their chests and scream a lot. Even if you don’t like football it is a little bit exciting to walk around and see everybody all peeped and Go Tech.

Academics
I wasn’t that excited when I was coming to Tech because I thought it was an engineering school and it was full of mostly math and engineering and computer science. But then since I’ve been here I’ve been continually impressed with the artistic community that’s here. The arts are alive and well in Blacksburg.

Student Body
The campus is like 25,000 people so you have a social life built in as soon as you come here and there’s all sorts of organizations for any kind of interests you could have. We have a really welcoming community, so as long as you get out there and get involved in what you want to do you’ll meet a lot of people.

In Closing...
There’s so much to do if you like nature. It’s a gorgeous area, we have the Cascades and just all sorts of hiking places.
