One of the best things to do is join a club!

Rating: 2/5 (79 ratings)
Introduction
The campus here at VA Tech, I think it’s one of the best campuses I’ve been too.

Campus Life and Social Life
The way to go is definitely get the flex plan. You can eat as much as you want, anytime of the day, you don’t have to be restricted by certain meals at different times of the day. When you’re an undergrad, you’re a freshman, sophomore, you tend to go downtown to like the dance clubs. It was the big thing. And as you progress into like junior year and senior as you become older I guess the bars would be a bigger thing. Apt parties. all you’re friends are getting into apt. parties. On campus Squires is a great way, to go there for bowling, playing pool, hanging DDR if you’re into that type of video games then that’s a great place to go. Game days are insane here. My friends currently love it, they dress up, they paint their bodies all spot Hokies. We just spend a whole day, going crazy over VT football.

Academics
The strongest academic programs I would have to say engineering is up there, computer science follows closely. And I would say the engineers have to do so much work, but the classes here are one of the best.
You go to class and you meet people. That’s where you want to go. A lot of the intro classes are pretty fun. They’re pretty big, that’s where you met a lot of people. I’ve meet some friends in there. Walking to class you have this whole Drill field where you see everybody going back and forth from classes. After classes you walk back to your dorm together or grab some food from class.

Student Body
Your freshman year you have a lot of openness to do whatever you really want to without you’re parents looking out for you. You go to class and you meet people. That’s where you want to go. The bus system is pretty good to go to the mall and Wal-Mart or something like that. You meet so many different people up here, someone always has a car. So you ride. If you were into hiking go down to the Cascades which isn’t that far at all. There’s a club for almost everything here at Tech that you want to do. Walking through the Drill field after like a 4 o clock class you’ll see the people fencing on there and that’s just crazy. You can find a club for everything. There’s underwater Polo, football, basketball, baseball, all those clubs that you can do. People range from all different styles because of the majors here that Tech offers.

In Closing...
Definitely join a club, an organization. There are so many and that’s a great way to make friends. You’ll just see yourself hanging out with them all the time. From the gymnastics club, I’ve made such a large amount of friends and each year incoming freshman will join and you’ll meet even more friends. I would say one of the best things to do is join a club, even more than one is what I would do.
