Wellesley is...

IntroductionTHINK CAREFULLY!!! consider being around women all the time and having to work harder to create a satisfactory social life involving men. I chose Wellesley because my financial package was excellent and even now my loans to pay back are less than $10,000. but if you are a student who really likes basketball games, football games, and want a more "public school" experience, this isn't the school for you. The women at Wellesley can be very political, opinionated, feminists and the like....think carefully! Also, if you want to become part of a greek org, this ISN'T the place...no greek orgs on campus at all.
Campus Life and Social LifeSocial/Campus life - building SUPER solid friendships/sisterhoods because the distraction of guys is out of the picture so there is less room for deceit, jealousy, betrayal, etc.; partying - the girls can get WILD! However, it was hard getting crowds to come in from the other schools, especially guys so a lot of on campus parties were DEAD so publicize EARLY and constantly to get those crowds in; sports - not satisfied cause they didn't have a track team clubs - TONS and TONS to choose from for any interest, ethnic/religious background or passion; weekends a lot of times were pretty good opportunities to catch up on sleep or get to visit somewhere off campus.

AcademicsNO TAs which is NICE....spanish, psych departments I know for sure were great...africana studies, theater, and other art department need much improvement in terms of more class options, more faculty, more events. professors know you by name if you let them. They are very reliable for advice (even outside of school issues), references and so on. The workload is BIG...prepare, prepare, start early, start early, get help from profs before due dates--that's all I have to say.
Student BodyNon-American. Lots of asians, of course white students, and everything in between--literally. Students are from tons of different countries and they are into EVERYTHING. I can't even list them all and they can be SUPER anal about EVERYTHING.
In Closing...THINK and consider your options CAREFULLY! Go visit before making a decision but don't necessarily let that visit sway you one way or the other either--they WILL try to fool you with the "good first impression."
