Blah, Blah, Blah

Introduction
I think this is essentially a school with a lovely hill...and nothing more. It has a hill that is very large. You climb up the hill to get to school, and then you climb down the hill to leave. I climb my way to the top of that hill and I get a work out as opposed to a solid education!

This is a very boring place to be. It doesn't have much of anything to offer. Of course you will find your usual small activities or theater groups going on, but it's really no big deal...making you feel the same thing about your college experience. The coolest thing I ever heard about this place was that Willie Nelson performed last August...when, of course, classes weren't even in session.

Campus Life and Social Life
There is not a very good social life at this school. It is a very slow-paced, boring town. It is a community town that is family oriented. Cops are everywhere and arrest people left and right...finding any and all reasons to ruin fun. I think that this school is no good. The party life is okay but it is such a small town that the cops know where the parties are and bust them immediately...even as early as 10 pm. This school sucks pretty bad. It is very "small town" and filled with small-minded people. I know this is a generalization, so please excuse the few who aren't.

A good way to describe this place is that it is a ghost town school. It is so dead on the weekends. Everyone packs up and goes home. It is very depressing if you live in the dorms because oftentimes it is all-of-the-sudden empty.

Academics
This is not a very challenging school academically. It is actually TOO easy. You could pass even if you didn't try all that hard. It is pretty easy to get in, even with low SAT scores. They will put you in classes that are insanely elementary and borderline offensive.

If you have any interest in growing knowledge-wise or have any sort of ambition to challenge yourself, you're barking up the wrong tree.

Student Body
The students are in to small town things. There is nothing really to do except go out to eat or see a movie. There aren't many bars to choose from. If you like the small town, boring life then you may like this school. Everyone seems to be from a small hick town in Kentucky, but there is a huge group of people from Nashville and Louisville. There are a lot of small town people here that run right back to "butler county," to their mama and daddy on the weekend. There are a few people who commute day and night to get their education and not be hindered by the small town experience. I know people who drive from Nashville to go to class because living in that small town was simply no fun.

In Closing...
Western is not a place I'd recommend you go. Definitely do not go to school here if you hope to expand your horizons or live in a busy city. It is the opposite of a fun, bustling city. It is no good. I would pay my child to NOT go to school here. I think it would be a waste of the four years that are reserved as one of the craziest, coolest phases in life. This school isn't anything to brag about at all.
