Western Michigan University-A real look

Introduction
Western Michigan is a perfect fit for the common man. You don't mind sitting through lectures, you are outgoing and social, and you can know how to buckle down when needed and study. If you have responsibility problems, you should not go here. If you are extremely conservative (beyond politics, with your life) you should not go here.

Campus Life and Social Life
Social life is good, if you instigate it. It seems like everyone is kinda stuck in their shell still and needs prodding to get them to come out. Sports are awesome to go to (and FREE!) and IM sports happen year round. Clubs are abundant here at Western. The best part being that if you don't find a club you like, you can find a friend and start a club if you so choose. Obviously, people party. On any night of the week it's common to see freshman stumbling back to the valleys. Advertisement
Academics
If you are doing anything with piloting or airplanes you have no excuse not to be at Western Michigan. Our paper program (yes, you read that correctly) is also top notch in the nation. Classes aren't too challenging and the professors and TAs are actually humans, with lives outside of the classroom. Saying that, I need to also say that professors know how to relate to students. They were all in your chair for awhile too.

Student Body
Student body is vaguely diverse. You can find every nationality and race on campus without trying too hard. The campus is dominated by caucasians and just that group is very diverse. You have basically all the standard stereotypical groups (thank you movies): jocks, frat guys, sorority girls, loose women, stoners, alcoholics, slackers, cowboys, jesus freaks (men and women), feminists, etc.

In Closing...
Western has a fun campus with a great student body. Classes are usually chill and the social life is always on here in Kalamazoo. Not the best academic reputation but well worth the experience.
