IntroductionVist. Go to classes. Instead of just thinking it is in the middle of nowhere come see the college and talk to students. Preferably stay overnight. Those who enjoy shopping constantly or like to go into town at night shouldn't come here. Things happen on campus most nights but the town rolls up at around 8. Also, the only store in walking distance of campus (and that is as far as most people go) is a very small Macys.
Campus Life and Social LifeThere are tons of talks and events happening. Most of the parties that are not school sponsored do involve drinking, but it is possible to find groups of people on campus who do not drink, and even if you go to the parties people tend to respect your right not to drink.
AcademicsI have enjoyed the vast majority of the classes i have taken. The only department I had a problem in was Spanish, but that is because I started at the 205 level.
Student BodyThe students vary a lot. Most are fairly studious, but also have a life. Some are very outdoorsy, but many of the students are not. There isn't a very large fashion scene here. The campus is very liberal, conservative views are not widely expressed, and when they are it is normally very quietly. The same goes for the military, which was part of a debate to ban them from tableing in the campus center.
In Closing...Study abroad is also a huge thing on campus. The majority of the junior class leaves some time during the school year, and scholarships transfer for some of the programs.
