Description:
This shows a quick peek at the University of Washington Medical Center's Human Fetus Teaching Collection. This is a collection covering over 50 years. The fetus's were obtained from women who had complications during childbirth (such as death to the mother), traffic accidents, or miscarriages and had agreed to give their and their fetus's bodies to science and help to teach future doctors and scientists about human reproductive anatomy.
Some have been treated with an Iodine stain that binds to the Calcium in bones in order to bring out the skeletal structure.
