'Paul Emard is Tambourine Man' is the story of the legendary Paul Emard, a mentally disabled 55 year-old man who has spent the last 40 years of his life playing tambourine with the University of California, Davis Marching Band-uh.
Like most people, Paul knows what he wants out of life: family, friends, love and happiness. But with his family 1,000 miles away and no love in sight, Paul finds himself torn between his future and the present.
Relying heavily on archival images, film and audio, "Paul Emard is Tambourine Man" unravels the story of Paul's life, the band that has become his family, the memories he loves so dearly, and the ongoing mental conflict between his wants, needs, and dreams."
