Description:
Check out this video that two of our students created regarding our troop care package project here at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).
Hundreds of care packages have been sent over the last few years. The troop names come from members of the MSOE community. The pics in the video are those that were sent back to us by the soldiers who received the care package. When a soldier writes us back, we actually take their letter or email and send it to the entire campus community (over 4000 people). Their letters back are both informative and touching.
Donations for the care packages have come from a variety of sources: students, staff, faculty, family, friends and alums. In addition to the personal care packages that the individual soldiers have received, we also continue to send school supplies (pens, pencils, notebooks), soccer balls, and toys (beanie babies, crayons, coloring books, beads, etc) to individual soldiers working with schools and orphanages in their respective areas. Hundreds of beanie babies and soccer balls have made it to the kids in Afghanistan and Iraq via these soldiers.
