If you value academics over the social scene, then you might like Ferris. I choose Ferris because it was one of a few schools that had my particular major. The type of student that should stay away from my school is one who can't take being in the middle of nowhere without a mall or many "real" places to shop/hang out without having to drive a distance to get to those places.

If you desire a school in an urban area, then Ferris is not for you. Despite being in a town that isn't very desirable, Ferris is. It is a good school with a great atmosphere that is sure to suit anyone. Grand Rapids is a short drive, which has tons of things to do.
