NYU: NYU: Most Overrated School in the Country
I chose NYU simply because it was the best school I got into academically and I got a full ride. Looking back, I wish I had chosen to go some place else, even if it would have been more expensive. I was extremely hesitant about coming here and I was very nervous to be immersed in city life. If you have ANY reservations about coming here, then don't, simply put. Don't even bother applying really. The people that come here and are happy are 100% obsessed with the city and comfortable with having a...

If you're looking for rolling hills, Greek life, football, and all the other traits of a traditional campus, do NOT come to NYU. However, if the idea of stepping out of your dorm and immediately being part of the greatest city on earth excites you, then NYU might be for you. You don't really feel like a student at NYU, more like a resident of New York City. There's something very exciting about leaving your dorm and not seeing a million other college students. I choose NYU because I absolutely love New York City. I did a summer program at Barnard College and fell in love with the city atmosphere/ nightlife. But NYU was very different. People should realize that NYU and NYC are two separate entities and when it comes down to it, NYC is a young ADULT city not a college town. Anyone who isn't extremely independant should shy away from this school.
