College Overview: NIU - Northern Illinois University

NIU - Northern Illinois University: Work hard, party hard.
This school is perfect for people that want to have their own space, yet want to stay close enough to home. I chose this school because it has a great education program, the people here have a lot of school pride, and because it is so inexpensive compared to other state schools. Students who dont like big campuses and a lot of people probably wouldnt enjoy NIU.

NIU - Northern Illinois University: what a joke
dont go here! this school is not very safe. Even after the shootings on valentines day...the poilce presence was there for maybe 2 weeks, and now, about a month later, i see cops less now than i did before the shooting!

Northern Illinois, what can I say? The only reason why I chose Northern Illinois was because I was not accepted into m first choice. I did not know it was so cheap compared to other state schools in Illinois, but unfortunately this is a school where you do not get a bang for your buck. If you want cheap school with a dead town and if you received straight C's or do not want to leave far from home, granting you live in or near Dekalb, then Northern Illinois may be the school for you.
