I chose UAlbany because I wanted a large University with a smaller college feel. That's exactly what I've found here. Enough kids to stay entertained over four years, but lots of familiar faces so you always feel comfortable. UAlbany has a reputation for being a party school, but that's a very limited stereotype of the place since we have so many committed, brilliant students alongside the party kids (in fact: many times, the same kid can be both!). SUNY Albany: Not for Small Town People!
If you're a small town person, you might want to avoid the city life of U Albany. It can be overwhelming and alienating. If you're the kind of person who can't imagine not drinking at least 5 nights a week, U Albany may be for you. Just don't forget, you do have to study. Also make sure you don't eat on campus! The food is disgusting, and can make you sick.
