I need help finding a college that fits me.

Need a warm climate (on the coast is a plus)
Very good reputation
Preferably in the suburbs/smaller city
Lots of activity on-campus (not just off-campus parties)

3.6 or 3.7 GPA (weighted)
28-31 ACT
Japan summer homestay with AFS
8 AP/Honors courses (Bio SAT II-690 AP World-5)
U.S. foreign policy summer course at American University
Global business summer course at Pace University
China travel program with school

Right now I'm thinking:
UC Santa Barbara
UC San Diego
U Virginia
Washington & Lee
USC
Furman
Rice
U Miami

Thanks for all the help!

What does everyone think about Miami? How would early decision or early action affect my chances?
- michael ingram
Miami is amazing. I was there for the summer program! I really think that you would get in, your scores are good and your ACT scores are good. If you got 30 on ACT, you can take Honors program as well. I think before you make choices, you should visit colleges because it looks different from brochure when you actually see it. If you really want to go to Miami, do early decision. But if you consider Miami as your one of your top choices, do early action. I think you will get in for sure. I loved Miami because it's in the city, the weather is amazing, and I took filmmaking class and it was wonderful!!

Furman's in Greenville, it's not on the coast though. I hear most of the students are very conservative. It's a religious affiliated school.

Furman being conservative is fine.

Thanks for the advice! Anyone else?
