Forum Topic: "Do I have a Chance?"

after taking my SAT's and realizing my unintelligence i am being forced to rethink the schools that I want to go to.
My gpa is around a 3.1 (unweighted, but keep in mind my school's grading scale is 94-100 = A, and 84-100 =B, etc.) and my SAT scores were CR-590, writing-530, and math 480. Im going to retake the SAT antry the ACT which I think I will do well on and I also have an OK amount of extra curriculars.I am also taking 3 AP courses and a honors calss, and have been taking honors and ap's all through high school. Im looking for schools on the east coast, any recommendations?
p.s. is there any chance I can get into Miami?

74% of Miami's class of 2011 have a 3.75 or greater UW GPA

Their average SAT score is around an 1880

There's no harm in applying, but it's not looking good =\

try the ACT!!!! I scored 160 points higher (when converted) on the ACT vs. SAT.

yeah miami might be a huge reach. if you really want to go to a school like that though then look into florida state, college of charleston, etc.
