Applying to: Syracuse, U Maryland, Penn State, Suny Albany
My current gpa is 3.72 and my class rank is 16 of 129. I have taken the most rigorous classes that are available at my school which include three honors courses during my junior year. During my senior year i will be taking ap bio, calc, and english. In the school community I'm pretty active serving as the president of student council, editor of the paper, president of the law club, president of national honor society, and a member of the spanish national honor society. I also have 500 hours of community service. I also have been awarded an internship with the D.A. beginning in September. Unfortunately my sat is the only thing that is weak. I scored an overall of 1580, CR-530, W-580, M-470. I plan on taking it once more and have been studying very hard.In need of safety schools and reach schools, any suggestions would be great.

With those SAT scores I might recommend places like UConn and as you mentioned earlier UMaryland. Your extra curriculars and academics are impressive so those are definite safety schools.

I really thought that Maryland would be a reach because of my sat's and gpa. I will definetely look into UConn. Thanks alot.

USC, UCLA, claremont schools, NYU, Tufts...

i mean if you improve ur scores u could prob go nearly anywhere

Have you considered taking the ACT instead?
- Angel
I thought USC and NYU were really big reaches because of my sat. I guess i will apply to those two but i think i'm a long shot. I haven't because while the reading and writing are easier, i find the math much more difficult.
