i've received a full ride at the university of virginia, but also have been accepted at yale.
i'm on borrowed time, and have accepted UVA, but realize that nothing's written in stone until the day i move into my new dorm...
it's been driving me insane for the past few weeks, and i can't seem to make a decision that sits well with me. my parents can pay for yale, and so money isn't an issue. the jefferson scholarship at uva offers myriad opportunities outside of the classroom (ie travel), but doesn't carry the weight of an ivy name.
any thoughts? help? advice? whatever?

It depends on what you want- either way, you're graduating as a Jefferson scholar (of which there are very few) or from an ivy league school. So don't worry about what's going to happen afterwards. Think about what you want from the school itself- what sort of people do you want to be around, what sort of campus life do you want, what sort of person do you want to become. Do you want people who are probably extremely goal-driven and focused or would you rather be around people who are also focused but really know how to party hard? I would go for the Jefferson scholar- you'll be around intellectual types without the stress and psychological problems which come from being at a high pressured environment.
I'm from a high school in VA which sends around 30 kids a year to UVA but I'm at Columbia now- don't just go for the name which will be on your college degree (although that's important,) but go for the place which will truly make you happy.

To be honest, I'd hit up UVA, you'll have a better time. CHYEAAAAAAA
- deadhippie61 I'm going to Yale, so I wholeheartedly recommend Yale. The experience you (we) will get is something few people have the opportunity to receive. Take advantage of it.
- WillH wherever you are happy. yes money is important but these are your best four years!
