Sorry for not being a girl, but I'm a third year at Tech. I can tell you that you can expect online reviews to be negative due to a special phenomenon called Finals Week. Depressed students vent their frustration at the difficulty level of the course work by telling people that the school sucks. Let me assure you that Tech is a great school.

Regarding girls: yes, there are more here than people tell you there are. And more are accepted every year. If you're interested in sororities (since that's where most of the non-nerdy girls tend to congregate) we have only 7 traditional sororities, but they are massive and represent nearly a quarter of the female population here. I'll say this too, I hear a lot of girls here tell me that very few Tech guys seem entirely normal, but the ones are have learned to treat ladies pretty well since they're supposedly so rare. I personally find that girls are not rare once you jon a few organizations and get out of your dorm or Greek house. Do yourself a favor and take a campus tour, and don't listen to stressed out engineering guys that say it sucks. Tech is awesome if you are okay with working hard to achieve.
