Forum Topic: "NEED ADVICE ASAP. Leaning towards Emory but..."

Post a new topic
hey everyone,
I'm still undecided about whether i want to pursue arts/design or medecine. Emory seems perfect for me in every way...if i was set on doing medecine.
I want to know how strong Emory's art department is, and how varying the level of education is in its different faculties. Emory is famous for med...but what about its other courses?
Can anyone suggest any schools that has a huge range of options, is strong in most areas(especially pre-medecine and art) and somewhere where the student can decide whether or not they want to change course after experimenting a little.
Also, how competitive is Emory? To get in, must you be valedictorian and president of 1001 clubs?
Thanks :)

Nahh. 85% of students are in the top tenth percentile, so you might want to aim for Salutatorian or Thirdutatorian; but even Twentiethututorian would be fine, as long your class has over 200 people.

President of 1001 clubs? Nah. President of 3 clubs? Wouldn't hurt.

In terms of the SAT, their average is 2080, therefore you should shoot for at least 2180--obviously, the higher your score, the better your chances are.

Some interesting facts I found on their and CB's websites:
39% of students are from the Southeast
The average GPA (UW) is 3.75
14% of students major in Business
31% of Early Decision applicants were accepted
