Hey, I am asking the American students: is it really possible that someone is a junior at the age of 14?

For you hayatessa, I think your life is unique enough to get in any of those Ivies. Absolutely no doubt about it.

You have a remarkable shot at any of the universities that you plan on attending. The fact that you are 14 and entering your Junior year in highschool definitely helps you stand out among the crowd.

You've got these things going for you at Princeton:

1. Brilliance
2. Grades
3. EC's
4. Minority

Remaining Thoughts:

You may be brilliant, but you do lack in athletics and music. Speaking from personal experience, music is big at most of the Ivy's, especially Yale. Atheltics are moderately big at Harvard. Nevertheless, you've got a great shot at all of those schools.

Questions:

1. Princeton, Harvard and Yale seem to be the cliche smart kid schools on this site. Why would you consider all of them, if they are all so different?

2. What types of relatives of yours graduated from Harvard?

3. Do you take a language at school? If not, you may not be applicable for Princeton at least. You need four years of one foreign language... (Taken in school).

4. Does your highschool only have four classes per day? If so, this could hurt your chances. None of the Ivy's you listed rank highschools, but the fact that you only have 2/3 of the workload of some other students may hurt the validity of your 4.0 G.P.A.

5. What classes did you take Sophomore year? I had the ability to take AP US History and AP Biology Sophomore year at my highschool (and AP Statistics because I was a year or two ahead in math).

I will not rag on you any longer, Hayatessa you have an amazing chance of being accepted into any of these schools.

Good luck.

1. I considered al of these schools because i think they have the best academic ratings.
2.I have distant cousins who graduated from Harvard.
3. I took two years of French so far and I also studied French at home. I might also consider learning more arabic.
4. Because I am home schooled I take classes at a home school resource center and study at home as well. But those are only the AP classes that i took or I am currently taking. I also did Chemistry, American Literature, and English.
5. I took AP statistics and AP Biology sophomore year and I am taking AP BIology and AP Psychology.
Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.

I also took Algebra II and Film if that helps at all

the only hole in your resume is a lack of serious involvement in an art or sport. but if u are very much into something else you don't need that. do you have a passion for anything?

ive always wanted to do fashion design on the side
- hayatessa
then do it. and be extraordinary at it. get a "fall line" out or something. publishing your work in any branch of art is something that jumps off the page.

i think writing a book or paper on hardship for someone of your ethnic/religious background:

-after 9/11 +
-discrimination from arab muslims toward african muslims [see darfur] +
-the american initial discrimination against islam and eventual 180 into "tolerance and appreciation" that is generally fake or isn't taken seriously +
-other issues i can't recall

or something like that and publishing it would look better and would make admissions committees put more weight into your ethnicity when deciding.

but that's just me. publish something serious. fashion can be serious, but they may not appreciate it as much as you do.

in response to the first comment, YES! If they skipped a few grades or something!

You're chances are almost as good as mine were. Which were 1:10... I'm really unique. So I think yeah you have good chances. Send me a message if you need any advice on this.
