wow it's been a while sincei've been on this site haha.
visited columbia. seriously like it, might even do the early decision thing with them. it's sorta a long shot:
3.71 (unweighted) str8 As all junior year most likely same for senior year. haven't calculated the wtd gpa but it's gonna be fairly high. i f-ed up pretty bad early on, but i'm pretty much spotless now academically.
11 AP tests with an average grade of 4.7 (if i keep getting 5s like this year)
took the sat for practice 2300 or something like that. pretty good i think. i did the pre-act test too and was second in my class, hopefully that'll continue over into the real thing. act goal = 33-34.
got 780 on the molbio subject test and a 790 on us history. taking math 2 in the fall probly along with something else for funsies.
Extracurriculars:
Wind ensemble
jazz band
drumline
drum corps (writing essay on this most likely because
it's a really significant experience)
amnesty international. nothing special. i mean i care a lot about it but i didn't have a leadership position or anything. i just did a lot of work with my school's branch thingy.
speech and debate-like 8 trophies in 20 weeks of it at the district and state levels. probly same deal next year.
100 hours of community service at children's hospital with cancer patients.
like $2000 raised for band program over a few years, gonna try to do another thousand next year alone.
if it counts for anything my brother has autism and i have to worry about him a LOT even though i'm busy as h3ll.
so i'm the musician speaker human-rights-advocate volunteer fundraiser.
i'm looking at:
columbia. i've visited and i love the campus and its buildings and such. nyc is also not bad.
HYPS. haven't visited any but i like princeton because its music program is strong and harvard for it's poly-sci. Stanford is located very conveniently as well.
Brown. I've heard it's the most relaxed ivy, though that just means the workload probly isn't 100% insane.
Cornell. rural but generally i like it. it's rumored to have a workload second only to MIT though so i'm not sure.
and random good schools like duke, unc, usocal, ucla, berkley, Johns Hopkins, georgetown, UW st. louis, BC, Notre Dame, and such. I have preference to g-town, duke, notre dame, and the cali schools though.
i'll probly apply to MIT to see if i can get in, and if for some odd reason i decide i love doing homework for 6+ hours daily between now and then i'll have the possibility of going there.
if it sounds like i'm not takng these schools seriously it's because i don't know anything about most of them and if i decide i don't want to go there i refuse to make a fuss about their reputations.
any ideas for other schools, ones that i'd like, suggestions, or anything else HELPFUL and/or PRODUCTIVE would be nice.
thanks.
PS if u don't think i can get in it's your right to say so but go ahead and put a cap on the assh0le juice before you post. I know that most people that get into Ivies have very VERY good GPAs and scores and things of that matter, and as such i don't need to hear it AGAIN. thanks.
