University of Arizona Tucson: U of A: PARTY PARTY PARTY.
first of all...U of A is an extremely easy school to get into. I love it here. I went to a private school and had a 2.8 and low SAT and ACT scores...Well, I got in to U of A. The weather here is gorgeous. Doors are small and look like prisons. TA are okay. Night life is AMAZING!!! All freshman have to go to Mexico at least once their freshman year..It's the thing to do. I chose U of A because of the hot weather (I came from South Dakota..brrr). And the academics are pretty good, particularily en...

San Francisco State: Great Learning Environment (if you are proactive)
I chose this school because of its proximity to San Francisco. However, if you want to actually live in the San Francisco urban area, this school is not necessarily for you. I live in the middle of the city, and it takes me an hour via public transportation to get to the campus at the edge of the city. So, if you are a student who wants to go to San Francisco State so you can live in the MIDDLE of San Francisco, you will be disappointed. If you are a student who wants to live NEAR urban San ...

High Point: A Great School All-Around
Don''t choose HPU just for the glitz and glam...really look at the academics and the social life and see if you truly fit there. A lot of people think they can sacrifice liking it to go to a school that nice. That's a big mistake. If you don't feel like you could see yourself here, truly think about that.

LSU: LSU: paradox university
I'm from York, Pennsylvania. I chose LSU because it was cheap; I got a very substantial scholarship, making tuition much cheaper than Penn St. or any of the private schools I was considering. The biggest piece of advice I could offer is to know that LSU has some great qualities, yet is terribly, terribly lacking in some very fundamental ways. I wouldn't recommend going there unless you have a place to stay off campus: I'll explain why in "Social Life/Campus Life"

banquets: hospitality
If you are considering a position in a banquet department, recognize, that they are long hours, physical lifting, but is a great environment to work in. You meet alot of people, and most places have a great employee environment.

Medical Records/Database Management: Low-key job
Be prepared for a bit of monotony, but if you are good at office work, database management, and computer use (and you like the healthcare field, but aren't a nurse/doctor), you will do well.

Teaching Artist/Director/Choreographer: Arts Education
Learn as much as you can. I started off in the creative world as an actor but was always learning new skills--choreography, directing, teaching, writing, etc. The more you can do, the more opportunities you will have to do work you love. Also knowing as much as possible enriches you as a person which makes you a more valuable artist and teacher.

Bartender: Cocktails & Dreams, This Is Not
Despite the inconveniences of the field, the payoffs are numerous. An overall fun job that pays alright, a new pasture to meet people, and a nice solid, if unsteady, flow of income. However, unless you plan to own, tending bar as a long term career will burn you out. I've seen it more than I'd like to admit. As far as a short-mid term thing, expect far less glamour, far more actual work, and a work day that comes and goes with your coworkers and clientele. Lastly, this is a very cash ...
